Learning Probablity Calculation Methods
Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this belongs in the Books/Publications forum, but I'll give it a shot.
What are some books out there related to calculating probability in decks of cards, ranging from simple basic calculations to calculations of a more complex variety? I'm trying to learn the methods, and would appreciate the help. Thanks everyone, and again, sorry if this is the wrong place for this question. Cheers! Ace |

Re: Learning Probablity Calculation Methods
What you need is a book on combinatorics, not probability.
The only thing you would need to know is that the probability of any event = # of ways it can happen / total # of outcomes. Anyway, naturally things are much more complicated than this oversimplification I'm giving you.\ A First Course in Probability by Sheldon Ross is what many top universities (including mine) use in their introductory probability classes. After chapters 1,2,3 and a little ingenuity on your part, you will be able to calculate all the [censored] you want. |
