I know this show is marketed towards girls (I think) but season 1 was one of the greatest seasons of tv I have ever watched. I rank it up there with season 1 of 24 and season 1 of lost. If you haven't seen it i'm sure you'll think (LOLLOL GAY!!) but if you watch the first 2 or 3 episodes of it and hate it I would be very suprised.
Anyone else like this show and isn't afraid to admit it? |

I have never seen it, but my wife loves it (just bought her the 2nd season DVDs for her birthday on Friday). I have heard from other hetero males whose opinions I trust that it is a good show, so I will probably break down and watch it some day.

It's like half-way between Buffy and the Shield. The dialogue and plots are unbelievable but the acting is decent. Plus, it's got a cynical bummer metality and isn't afraid to let its characters lose, a lot. Also, if you buy it on DVD, girls will come over to your house and watch it.

I read some hype about this show and decided to get the first few episodes. I was stunned at how good this show was. The writing is up there with the best of TV. Seasons 1 & 2 are both very solid. Season 3 has been a bit less so, but I'm hooked now and can't wait for the new episodes to start. I mean, in the very first episode, Veronica's best friend gets brutally killed and Veronica gets raped; this is definitely not the silly teenybopper high-school show I would have assumed it was.

I love this show, can't wait for January 23rd. fun melodrama, witty writing, some great acting. Many of the plots are preposterous but you just have to not stress about it.
Also I don't think girls are the only target demo....a lot of Buffy fans are into this show, and that show ended up being pretty popular with guys also. p.s. have you guys noticed how much jason dohring looks and moves like ed norton? SPOILER who do you guys think killed dean o'dell? END SPOILER |

Veronica Mars is certainly the best show on television, and one of the best ever. As other people have said, this show is certainly not the fluffy, dumb teen show that a lot of people seem to think that it is. It's incredibly cool, has incredible characters, and wonderful dialogue.

my GF watches this show...I find the entire plot to be completely stupid and spend most of my time going "omg, thats soooo dumb!". But the lead character is nice to look at and the acting is pretty good. But its not what I would call "great TV"

I like the "halfway between Buffy and The Shield" description.
I had the same opinion as Alobar, until I finally listened to the large amount of smart people telling me the show was good, borrowed some dvds, started from the beginning and began to understand the brilliance. Which is about the same way I got into Buffy, by the way. |
