Need Info on CEO POKER TOUR and the TAJ AC
What’s up guys,
I am thinking of making the plunge into my first set real MTT's. I found a event that I think fits my criteria. May 19 to May 25, 2007 Trump Taj Mahal 1000 Boardwalk at Virginia Avenue Atlantic City, NJ 08401, US 609-449-1000 Toll-Free: (1) 800-72-POKER Date Event Buy-In Sat, May 19 at 2:00 PM Event #1 - No Limit Hold'em $500+$50 Notes: Turbo Freeroll @ 11am Sun, May 20 at 11:00 AM Event #2 - No Limit Hold'em $500+$50 Mon, May 21 at 11:00 AM Event #3 - No Limit Hold'em $500+$50 Tue, May 22 at 11:00 AM Event #4 - No Limit Hold'em $1,500+$125 Wed, May 23 at 11:00 AM Event #5 - No Limit Hold'em $1,500+$125 Thu, May 24 at 11:00 AM Event #6 - No Limit Hold'em Championship $5,000+$200 Notes: 2 Day Event. Final Day Begins @ 11am I am going to play in Events 1,2 and 3. IF I can cash in any of those I will play in event 4,5 or 6. If I can cash big I will play in the World Series this year. I have played in many 120-160 player Tourneys and have fair well. I am curious however what type of structure these events will be? I have called the TAJ, but am finding it hard to speak to someone who is familiar with this tournament? So if anyone minds I have a few questions for anybody who might be able to answer. #1 Do you think it is better since this is my first big tournament I played in to stick to Event 1,2,3 and spread my money out or just play in #4. #2 How many players do you think this tournament might have? #3 what type of structure do you think it will be, due to it only being a one day tournament. Any other information or tips would be greatly appreciated, by the way if anyone is interested in going let me know. I got a great plane ticket from Ft Lauderdale but the rooms are crazy, so I need to share a room with some people. Matt |

Re: Need Info on CEO POKER TOUR and the TAJ AC
I haven't played in the specific tournament that you mentioned in your post, but I did play in one of the $500+50 events before the US Poker Championships at the Taj last year. If my recollection is correct, the field was in the 400-500 range. You started with $5,000 chips, and the blinds began at 25/50. I'm pretty sure that the levels lasted around 45 minutes (might have even been a bit longer, but definitely less than an hour). After each level the blinds doubled, and I think that the antes started at Level 4.
The field was mixed... lots of solid players, but definitely a lot of tourists, too. It was an interesting event and worth playing in. |

Re: Need Info on CEO POKER TOUR and the TAJ AC
Thanks guys for the info. I am trying to get a good poker rate at the TAJ, but I am sure since it will be an event week they might be higher than usual.
Also cashing 1/3 is realistic you think for a solid torunemant player? Matt |

USPC structures (doesn't mention level lengths, though)
USPC results $550 NLHE got 400 on Saturday, 272 on Tuesday, |

Although the fields might be more comparable to the November-December Trump Classic than the USPC.
