Rake and low limit nlhu
I play at crypto with 32% rakeback and I have come to enjoy the nl50 and nl100 heads up games. But the rake is a bit extreme. Is it even possible to beat this game because of the rake, it seems that theres 10 dollars less on the table after like 10 minutes.

Re: Rake and low limit nlhu
Probably not, or not enough to make the variance worth it.

Re: Rake and low limit nlhu
I would say that yes it is possible to beat the rake.... I do play 100 NL hu with a rake back... if you play better than your opponent, youll do nice profits really fast and the rake back is a plus to your profits. Maybe rake at 50 Nl is harder to overcome... I dont know, but there are so many dumbs playing hu especially on crypto Ťand at 100 Nl tables...
I would say that you can do better profits than playing NL hu tournaments... |

Re: Rake and low limit nlhu
I played some heads up $1/$2 for giggles on Full Tilt. In 36 hands, $5.90 was taken off the table. That's over $16 per 100 hands, or 8bb/100. OMG!

I also make the hypothesis that in achieving equal hourly rates single tabling the 100 (or 50) NL CG tables you can make the same hourly figure single tabling HU SnGs with a lower variance and a smaller bankroll. |

Re: Rake and low limit nlhu
so should we not be playing HU cash games at anything less than 1/2 because of the rake?

Re: Rake and low limit nlhu
even at 1/2 the rake looks pretty steep. it might start getting reasonable at 2/4 and 3/6 and less significant at 5/10 and above but that's just a guess. i don't play hu cash, this is based on my observations of hu cash games.

Re: Rake and low limit nlhu
I've played 16k hands of 1/2NL on fulltilt. Rake was $1200, won $4500. So rake is a bit less than 2ptbb/100 hands not that debilitating at all. Definately beatable.
at 2/4 rake is about the same, so 1ptbb/100. Strangely enough at 3/6 the rake is actually smaller than at 2/4, but maybe this is because theres alot more folding preflop. so yeah, move up. |
