top two becomes middle two...
live 12/24 game...this is a hand that was played by a friend at the same table as me...im not in the hand...
table is very loose and chatty, some preflop aggression, but not really aggressive or maniacal... Hero: QJs UTG+1 Preflop: UTG limps, Hero limps, MP1 raises (a loose and straightforward typical live player), some people call, 6 ways to the flop for 2 bets with both blinds in... Flop: Q J 2 rainbow (12sb) blinds check, UTG checks, Hero bets, MP1 raises, all fold to hero who calls planning to c/r the turn...i think this is fine as is 3betting the flop...comments? Turn: A (8bb) go ahead with the plan and c/r or something else? thanks for the comments... |

Re: top two becomes middle two...
Consider raising preflop but limping is fine in EP here. Just 3-bet the flop and go from there.

Re: top two becomes middle two...
Why not cr flop? Or raise preflop for that matter?

Re: top two becomes middle two...
With the A now out there, better 2pr is possible & so is a straight or set. I would bet out here and see what kind of information you can gather. I would expect your opponent to play AK, KK, QK all the in same way, and are probably of equal or greater likelihood than the hands that now have you dominated. C/C vs. tight, B/C vs. loose.
Oh, and you NEED to 3bet this flop considering the MP+1 pf raise and continued action on the flop. |

Re: top two becomes middle two...
Preflop:With only 1 limper ahead of you & 7 more yet to play, limping with this hand is much better, imo.
Flop:After 3 have checked & 2 players behind you yet to play,I consider the bet/3-bet to be superior to trying for a check-raise. Turn:As played,I would bet out for reasons given above. |

Re: top two becomes middle two...
I'd limpreraise at least a reasonable portion of the time here (70%+), unless you mean to say that the PFR is way too passive preflop.

Re: top two becomes middle two...
thanks for the comments so far...i think entity's line for limp/3betting preflop and kinda cool since its a live game and doing weird [censored] is fun, although the thought didn't cross my mind or hero's...
as for the flop...i prefer a bet/3bet as do some others here, but what about the turn? what line is best given that an A fell and villain is a straight forward bad player? should we still c/r? bet/fold? bet/call? check/call? |
