Harrah\'s New Orleans, good/bad?
I've never played there. What can I expect, as far as quality of play, quality of service (dealers, pit boss, etc)?
What is the best game to play in? I have heard they spread a 4/8/12 O8 game on Wednesdays that is a really good game to sit in. Does anyone know if this is true? Any good trnys? And where should I eat? Thanks. |

Re: Harrah\'s New Orleans, good/bad?
Most of the time the only games running are 3-6 LHE, 1-2 and 2-5 NLH. I'm not sure about the O8 game but I have seen bigger PLO and LOH games running occasionally.
I usually play 2-5 NLH and find the game to be very profitable. NL games pay a $6/half hour time charge. The dealers and floor are competent but nothing to write home about. They have a tourney each Sunday that I think varies in buyin from 100-300. I have never played. What kind of food are you looking for? You can get anything you could ever want within a 10 min walk of the casino. |

Re: Harrah\'s New Orleans, good/bad?
Pre-Katrina, I used to be in NOLA a lot for work. I've never seen omaha spread there either. But I can say that during the day, the NL games might be better, but at night, after people have stumbled over from the quarter, the 3-6 limit hold em game is incredibly loose, and if you play well, you can take $400 easy from drunk tourists. Not sure if this is also the case for NL games, though I'm sure it is.
As for staff, etc, it's nice compared to other services I've received in casinos around the country. |

Re: Harrah\'s New Orleans, good/bad?
It's been a while since I've been there, so there might be some changes...
They don't spread O8 there, it's Omaha high only. They have a 4/8 1/2 HE, 1/2 Omaha game and a 10/20 or 15/30 Omaha game going. The 6/12, 10/20 (sometimes 15/30) LHE that used to go pre-Katrina is long gone. It's NOLA, the people are all pretty nice and the dealers are competent enough. |

[/ QUOTE ] Very true. It's still worth it if you want to play, but if you're used to a home casino with a completely enclosed room like I am, it's definitely a headache sometimes. |
