Re: proper way to play AA
1) Why are you short stacked? Why haven't you re-bought to the max?
2) Raise preflop to $18 here. 3) You *might* check behind this flop, and hope he leads the turn then push all in. Multihanded you always bet flop here, but HU you may want to check once depending on read, i.e. if the villain may like to bluff etc. AB |

Re: proper way to play AA
sylar,
this is fine IMO. The problem with making a great hand is that you need someone else to make a second best hand. The board is good for you to bet with two high cards and a flush draw out there. Hopefully, it was the case ace or the villain is stuck with some flush/gutshot draw that they want to see one more card with. There are very few hands that couldn't call the flop yet would call the turn that would make for a big win for you. Your line is great for stacking JJ, AJ, KQh, etc. MT2R |

Re: proper way to play AA
thanks all. the cap in this game was $60, so i am only $2 below the limit of what i can bet. it came right after a tough laydown, but usually i sit with $100-120

Re: proper way to play AA
Reraise much more preflop. I make it at least 22 vs unknowns, and 26+ vs retards like this guy.

Re: proper way to play AA
PS you really need to state that it's a cap game in your OP, how are we supposed to know? With only 30 BBs maybe you can just make it 20 preflop or something. 6 with 8 is downright pathetic though. SSNL isn't about tricking people into mistakes, it's about punishing the mistakes they are going to make regardless.
