NL100 6max - AK trying to protect TPTK
I have pretty much just sat down, but let's say I already have the stats I eventually got on villain: 30/10/2.5.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) CO ($119.15) Button ($80.50) SB ($55.30) BB ($108.40) UTG ($90.35) Hero ($148) Preflop: Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises to $4, 2 folds, SB calls $3.50, 1 fold. Flop: ($9) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets $8, SB calls $8. Turn: ($25) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets $14, SB calls $14. River: ($53) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets $29.30 (All-In), Hero...? This is the first hand I've posted here, so be cool. I didn't think about my river action much at the time, but it might be more nuanced than I think. |

Turn and River aren't helping him at all. I'm calling here unless villian is a total nit.

Your probably beat here a portion of the time but getting better than 2:1 and having the clubs miss makes this a pretty standard call.

Re: NL100 6max - AK trying to protect TPTK
I was mostly thinking "ALL IN? - he's been playing so passively, this could still be anything - probably a bluff" and not "look at all the missed draws - that's probably a bluff". But either way, it looks an awful lot like a bluff, so I called it. He flipped over AJ for the flopped straight. Folding never crossed my mind, but I think it probably should have. There are way too many two-pair, funky set, or straight possibilities (at least as many good hands as bluffs). But the missed clubs are something to think about.
The harder question for me is: am I calling on the end because it's an all-in? I think my game is probably a little leaky there. I think of this bet completely differently if his stack is still $80 and he puts $29.30 of it in. I always imagine that a river bet that includes his last chip is somehow a bluff. So I don't call much more than $30, and I wonder if I call $30 if it's not an all-in. |

Re: NL100 6max - AK trying to protect TPTK
the action i will probably end up taking is calling, the odds are just too good..
the reason i have for calling i can't decide on.. i think it's a combination between a worse TP or a bluff.. but they both point towards to call.. this may be a leak for me? |

I check the turn, your hand really isnt all that great on this board and you are pot committed to call a river push.

[ QUOTE ]
very easy call [/ QUOTE ] I guess we need to call getting such good odds, but isn't our hand basically a bluff catcher here? To me, this doesn't look very much like K6 or worse. How is our hand any different from K2 or AQ here? |
