KQs UTG+1 turns into HU
Hi, not much of a read on villain at play time, but from looking at PT after the hand (no HUD display and it's my first time playing him so he wasn't in my notes), he's 20/9/4.83 (AF 16 on flop) over 120 hands.
I've been seen as pushy I think although always with good hands but many were not showed down. I think my flop play is fine due to overcards/OESD+backdoor flush draw, but please do let me know if I'm wrong. Given that you don't have the best hand, and that you're not folding any hand in his range, I don't like the flop.

Re: KQs UTG+1 turns into HU
the 7 and the two diamonds kill the flop play. the 7 matters because it means 77-99 arent folding, and the diamonds mean he can come up with excuses to see the river with AK/AQ.

Re: KQs UTG+1 turns into HU
Villain is never folding the flop to your c/r. Even if he has AK/AQ (the best you can hope for under the circumstances), he has a gutshot to go along with his overcards and will definitely go to the turn and probably the river too because he can see the board is drawy and semi-bluffable just as well as you can.
I could see getting pushy if the board were ragged or featured only one high card that you could credibly represent, but this board at least sort of connects with every single 3-betting hand villain could possibly have. He's not going anywhere. Check/call, check/call, check/fold. Poker is really easy sometimes. |

Re: KQs UTG+1 turns into HU
Flop isn’t that good, that it seems at first glance. Like said above, you don’t have best hand here and I can’t imagine any hand that villain would 3-bet preflop and fold to your c/r on the flop. Only hands that might do that are AK and AQ, but then again your image is quite aggressive, so it’s quite likely that you will get at least called.
Also it might be bit questionable to call the turn bet. That 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] killed quite many of your outs and you might even be drawing dead. Folding the river is mandatory. |
