500nl live - Aces full, how to maximize value?
This hand came up last night in a 2/5 live game. I'm mostly interested in how I might have played the hand to get all his chips in - turn and river action mostly. I had been playing pretty taggy. I had bluffed the villian a few times, and he is a guy who always assumes the worst and folds - he kept talking about all the great laydowns he has made, and that sort of thing. Me and villian had about $600 each.
Two limpers to me in MP with AA, I raise to $25, Villian calls from CO, one limper calls. Flop comes 10 5 4 rainbow. Limper checks, I bet $50, villian calls, limper folds. Turn is A. I check, villian bets $45, I raise to $100. Villian thinks, and calls. On the river the board is 10 5 4 A 4. I lead for $200, villian calls. I show Aces full and he shows Fives full - He had flopped a set and slowplayed it, then somehow didn't lose his whole stack. Good for him, but does anyone have suggestions for how to get his last few hundred in the pot? I had him on top two on the end. |

raise more preflop, it's live and people call huge raises with anything so get as much money in with the best hand as you can. flop bet is ok...could be bigger. bet the turn, or if u c/r make it bigger so you can push the river and it wont be a big overbet

Not convincing as played? |

From what you are saying the guy is basically going to call you with just about any decent hand based on your prior hands/banter.
1) Raise more PF, ~$40 2) PSB on flop 3) c/r to pot on turn he pushes to this more times than not. 4) c/r AI on river if he flat calls. |

Please dont check min raise the turn with AK.. [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't, but that move would be typical for most of the players in this game. |

I think you realize the biggest mistake was on the turn. C/R is fine, but make it bigger. If he's tight, he's not calling without 2pair+ whether the raise is small or large. Might as well make it large for when he has something.

I didn't want to scare him off of top two. |
