shall i call this donkebet my 4 paired?
Blinds are tight. Well, SB is actually 34/0/1.19 but he loves to fold his SB. BB is 16.3/8.75/1.36 but is somewhat comfortable defending his BB. Still, preflop may be a tad out of line, but I'm not too concerned with that. What I'm more interested in is donkbets in general. I've been calling them a lot more recnetly, what do you think of this call and if you like it what is your plan for the river?

I call down because a TAG will c/r this turn if they have a 9
they would make this move with any [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] broadway calling down > raising/folding |

I'm not sure about the pre-flop, but how and ever...
I think a lot of players love to donk a paired board HU, especially when they think there's a good chance you've missed. I like raising the turn and hoping for a cheap showdown. |

River: (6 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero checks. Final Pot: 6 BB |

Re: shall i call this donkebet my 4 paired?
I agree that BB rarely has a 9 here - looks most like a flush draw semibluff or pure bluff assuming you have overs. I'd raise it - that being the last money I put in UI. I'd fold to a turn 3bet and plan to ck behind on the river UI.

Re: shall i call this donkebet my 4 paired?
The more I've thought about it I'm tending toward raising here. If I'm behind it costs me the same, and if I'm ahead I'm rarely getting another bet out of him anyway so best to not let him draw to his 6 outs

If you know it's unlikely he has a 9, I think it's better to raise and hope for a fold right there, or at least a cheap showdown given hero's mediocre holding. |

This line is Ace-hi often or just a draw, raise for value and bet most rivers if he 3-bets of course fold.

Re: shall i call this donkebet my 4 paired?
Most players will check with top pair or better here I think. The exception being if they are cunning enough to realise you expekt them to do that.
I still think I lean towards call check/call rather than raising since if he three bets we lose the pot and if we're behind we lose an extra bet more than we make an extra bet when we're ahead. |
