Home Theatre in a Box

Alright, OOT A/V club. The "A" in my A/V system is blown and was [censored] to begin with. I'm looking for a stopgap measure, fully intending to replace it once I really do my full home theatre makeover. Is it worth trying to figure out which $200-$300 home-theatre-in-a-box is the best, or are they all pretty much the same [censored] a this price point anyway? Any recommendations?
