Go ahead and check/fold the turn, unless you have a read that villain peels extra loose. The ace didn't scare him, the only draw came in, and you can't even beat middle pair. With a hand like QQ or with a heart I can see this going differently, and while there is a small possibility you are ahead going into the turn (e.g. vs. KQ with a heart) these hand combos don't make up enough of villain's range.

Yeah, good fold. When a villain isn't concerned when the board flops an Ace after a preflop re-raise, you're most often beat.
