Toughest Video Games when set on \'Difficult\'
For games that have a 'difficult' or 'hard' setting, which are the most ridiculous to beat?
I'll submit Mario Tennis n64 on "Intense". Utterly impossible to get a single game off the computer in singles. |

Devil May Cry 3 on the hardest setting? I dont keep up with my video games much these days, but that setting is really [censored] hard.

Re: Toughest Video Games when set on \'Difficult\'
pretty sure Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts kills this thread. I always thought Ninja Gaiden was pretty tough as well. I think those old school Star Wars Trilogy games on SNES were tough as hell too (Super Empire, Super Star Wars, Super Return).
anyway, recently I think Manhunt is pretty [censored] hard on the hardest setting. |

Re: Toughest Video Games when set on \'Difficult\'
The winner is definitely going to be an older game, and probably a shooter. Ghouls and Ghosts can be really tough depending on the version - the SuperGrafx iteration kicks my ass!
Air Zonk is hard on the hard setting, Blazing Lazers doesn't need a special setting to be hard, and Adventure Island on the nes is hard to beat even with a Game Genie. There are lots of games that border on unbeatable from the mid to late 80s - making a game beatable by the majority hadn't become a strong design principle yet. I don't play many recent games, so I have no clue what the current toughest is. |
