Deuces never loses!

There are two players between me and the preflop raiser. There are five players in the hand. I'm second to act and I make a horribly weak bet. This bet wears many hats. It is intended to: 1. Trap some players for $3. 2. Look weak enough to induce a good-sized raise. 3. Let me three-bet all-in and still look like a flush draw. If all goes well I will get extra money, induce a bluff, and disguise my hand. What do you think? P.S.: If the preflop raiser had been on my more immediate left, I would have just gone for a check-raise instead.</font> |

Many draws are getting those bitchin' implied odds you hold so dear.

Re: Deuces never loses!
I hate. With 5 players I stop worrying about relative position so much as the pfr'er is just going to give up unless he really has something. You have ~8xpot effective so 2/3 pot+ is good here, but I hate this underbet.

Re: Deuces never loses!
I would not expect button's holding to be as strong as you seem to be. If there is a caller I would not expect to see a "healthy raise" too much, especially with no specific reads.

Re: Deuces never loses!
Pokey-
Your really overthinking this IMO. Your relative position sucks, so leading is mandatory. You post valid arguements for a weak lead, but I think you'll find that often players won't have enough to raise here, and you'll be stuck with a small pot on the turn. Also, consider your weak lead, sure it may trap some of the limpers, however if the PFR raiser does decide to make a sizeable raise, sure you can push, but you're losing those other players in the middle. If you just call the PFR raise, it will be likely too much for those in the middle to call anyways. You will build a bigger pot by leading for a PSB here. Many between you and the PFR will still call. Don't overthink these spots man, the old adage "to win a big pot, you need to build a big pot," holds true here. |

You need to be pretty sure that the preflop raiser will raise freqeuently to make the 3 dollar bet be right. |

Re: Deuces never loses!
Yeah, I only like this if you have a particular read that PF raiser goes after weak bets. Also, unless you make weak OOP bets in multiway pots with your draws and marginal made hands, this kind of bet is a giant flashing red light that you have a monster.
