Going to vegas in two weeks...cheapest place on/near Strip?
I'm going back to vegas again in two weeks. I can't wait but I have to find someplace to stay.
Two months ago, a friend and I stayed at Gold Coast (across from the Palms). The location wasn't too bad because the car shuttle ran pretty consistently. The price was decent, at around 49 dollars per night after the poker rate (60ish before the rate), but jumping up quite a bit on the weekends. Now i'm trying to find somewhere else to stay. Are there any cheaper places than Gold Coast that are AS convenient to get to the strip? I've heard that the Frontier is an option. I'm trying to look in at the Comfort Inns and Best Westerns that are on the east side of the strip, but I don't know if they offer free shuttle service to the strip, and I'm pretty sure they don't have poker rates. Only considerations are price, and location, I don't care about anything else. Thanks! |

sahara is usually dirt cheap and the rooms aren't bad. imperial palace is another cheap options. best bet is to use travelaxe, you should be able to find a deal.

Poker rate at Sahara and Stardust are right in the same range as Gold Coast.

Across the street from the In-n-Out Burger on Trop. Theoretically, you could walk to the Strip, but you'd have to cross I-15 (there are sidewalks, I've seen it done.) IP and Sahara are probably better values, though. |

check out kayak.com
I know America's Best value Inn is dirt cheap, like $30 a night. It's across the street from the MGM. |

Re: Going to vegas in two weeks...cheapest place on/near Strip?
I'm going in September, too, and have found that the Sahara, Stratosphere (both at the far north end of the strip), and Imperial Palace (center strip) are among the cheapest without being in Motel 8 category. Palace Station is also under $50 and just off the strip.
The first week of September has by far the cheapest rates of the month most anywhere, if you can go then. |

I'll echo the Imperial Palace suggestions. Not as cheap as the fleabag motels, but still really cheap. Plus an okay cardroom and an epic location. Check out their website for a deal that includes free buffet every day and some other random stuff.

i stayed at the Tuscany last time i went and it was great, pretty cheap, about half a block off the strip by the MGM...decent casino (small poker room) and nice rooms...they have a decent coupon book with a bunch of freebies so that helps...
