Pretty easy All in IMO, he pretty much always has 77-99 or FD here... What was the thinking behind turn check?

My gut tells me fold this one. I think he's trying to suck you in with a boat. |

Pretty easy All in IMO, he pretty much always has 77-99 or FD here... What was the thinking behind turn check? [/ QUOTE ] I made the turn check because almost all players will bet behind on this board no matter what they have. If he has any pocket pair, he is going to raise to try to protect against the flush draws. If he has a flush draw, he almost certainly puts out a decent size bet as a semi bluff (since it appears that I may have been trying to steal on a ragged flop). If I bet out front on the turn, how much do I bet? If I bet a small amount and he has a flush draw, he gets appropriate odds to call and get to the river. If I bet a large amount, he usually folds his flush draw and sometimes pocket pairs as well. By checking, I believe I get more value out of him almost no matter what he is holding. Anyhow, that was my thinking... Am I wrong to assume that almost everybody with almost every hand will bet something after I check on the turn? Or, would have it been better to bet something up front to at least get more information? |

So, here are the results: Turn: ($349) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) ...Hero raises all in $654.06, CO calls all in $333.55. River: ($1312.60) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero shows K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. CO shows 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] CO wins $1312.60 from the main pot with a full house, fives full of threes. So, now my question is whether I could have avoided going stacked on this hand?. That is, could I have played differently and somehow found a fold? Maybe with different play earlier? Or, was it pretty inevitable that I was going to get stacked? Any ideas? |
