South FL MTTs
I plan on playing a few live MTTs this week at either Seminole Hard Rock (Hollywood), Old Seminole (Hollywood), or Dania Jai-Alai. Does anyone have any experience with these? I heard something about Dania Jai-Alai using two boards (or is this just for the cash games?). The structure at Dania is 3k starting chips with 100-200 blinds at level one. Is this normal? Thanks for the help!

Re: South FL MTTs
Dania tournaments are horrendous. Their double-flop is a cash game, which is probably more fun than the normal no-fold-em-2$-hold-em games around here but still not a great game overall. Cash cames down in South Florida are terrible at any casino/parimutual.
The Hard Rock has a few decent tourneys if you're looking for buy-ins on the cheap. I think Saturday or Sunday around 11am or noon at the Hard Rock is a decent one. I tend to play the Wednesday re-buy or Saturday/Sunday bounty tournaments at the Seminoles though when I'm in the mood to play tournaments. For the most part I've just semi-retired on poker and play when I go to Vegas (leaving on Tuesday, yay). |

Re: South FL MTTs
What MiamiDave said.
I've played in the Sunday bounty tournament at the old Seminole. Compared to most every other tournament in S. Fla., that one is decent. Start with 2000 chips and 25/50 blinds. $80 buyin, with $15 going to the house and $10 into the bounty pool. Cash games all over are terrible, tournaments at Dania are terrible, some tourneys at the Hard Rock and the old Seminole are OK but nothing great. |
