Paigow... the ultimate drunkfest?
Do all B&M's have the "house way" option?
Can I just sit down, let the dealer arrange my hands and just power drink? Wouldnt betting $50 a hand be an easy way to get comps since a majority of hands are pushed? Sorry if this has been discussed before, but it seems like the varience on paigow can be cut a bit by betting big and getting comped well. |

Re: Paigow... the ultimate drunkfest?
Pai Gow is great to get blasted, but setting hands isn't hard at all really, even drunk. If you have a question, turn it up and have the dealer do it. Also...comps aren't great in Pai Gow bc your expected loss is lower due to the game's pace. Being a $50 Pai Gow player is no big deal in most casinos - gotta spread some black around. Enjoy.

If you can't beat min bet PGP by just powerdrinking you shouldn't play Pai Gow.

[/ QUOTE ] To add to this: I used to be a pit supervisor several years ago, a $50/hand Pai Gow player was equivalent to about a $15/hand BJ player because of the game pace for PG being about 1/3 the speed of BJ. It's still my favorite game to go to some of the lower limit joints, play $25-50/hand and get comped pretty well (food, drinks, ect..). Being pleasant, not whining about hands, and tipping the dealers a little bit will go a long way with the right floor supervisors. Read Comp City some time regarding stuff like this. I always make sure I say hi to the floorperson by name and place my first bet above what my average is going to be when they are handing my card back to me. If I'm going to play 30/hand average, I'll toss out 50 when they come over after opening up a rating card because that is the first bet they'll see. It helps |

Re: Paigow... the ultimate drunkfest?
I kinda figured. Plus I dont want to be that guy who slows down the game I guess.
Will most pits open a new table if I want to multi-hand BJ (to reduce varience?) 25 a hand 4 handed = 1 black chip per round. My local casino's minimum in their high rollers room is $25.00... I'll post a trip report to see what Im offered while Im there.....and yes honestly I just want to look cool being the youngest guy in the high rollers room. Im a tool. I know. But hey Im going with the wife and one of her girlfriends...maybe Ill get upgraded to the super pimp suite and smooth them both over with a mix of my BJ pwning abilites and Jager. Dumping handfuls of bills on two naked chics.....mmm....Rockstar (censored). |

[/ QUOTE ] Short answer. No. You're going to need a 6 figure credit line and a history of high limit play at most joints before this is going to happen. Most casinos only allow up to 2 maybe 3 spots of BJ play unless you're in a high limit lounge (100-500/min per hand). If it's a weekday, there is almost undoubtedly a dead bj game somewhere during the early afternoon or late evening (dinner time). Get later at night and games start shutting down for graveyard. |

Re: Paigow... the ultimate drunkfest?
I usually see a lot of dead $25 tables...I'll just ask to play the maximum amount of hands. My wife plays casino bonuses too so she can take a hand or two as well....right?
Am I being too optimistic to think that I can get a suite upgrade or comped basic room after 3-4 hours? If 3 handed we could fill an empty table with $125 per round bets. If this was Freemont or something then Id expect a bit more...but this is a harrahs in MO so I dont know. They have the $500 max every 2 hour thing. Its a pretty low limit casino. I do know at this csino our comps can be merged so Im hoping they'll hook us up, Ill blow money, but I want them to go out of their way to make sure Im having the most fun doing it as I can. |

Re: Paigow... the ultimate drunkfest?
Best bet is to call the casino and ask for a host. They'll be better to answer all these questions for you. I'm not familiar with how Harrahs comps or the gaming laws in Mo.

On more than one occasion I've played $5 Pai Gow and gotten blind-a$$-stupid-blackout-drunk. Good times.

Re: Paigow... the ultimate drunkfest?
Pai Gow is THE game to play drunk.
My buddy and I put in a 9 hour power-drinking session at NY NY last trip out there. Players were coming back to the table we had been with the night before, all showered, drinking coffee, and we were still two-fisting Heinekens. Then it seemed like a good idea to walk back to Caesars Palace in the 9:00 AM Vegas summer sun. I'm surprised my skull didn't crack wide open. Quote of the night, dealer turns my friend's hand over, says "Oh, that's not House Way" (hand was not fouled), then looks at her cards and he won the hand. Had he played house way, it was a push. His quote: "I don't play House Way. I play Heineken Way". Good times. |
