Villian is 28/10 over 2000 hands. He is actually a fair bit down over that period, but I think it's variance and that he is solid (he's called ex_noose).
I'd had zero good hands at this table and had been tight. Also, I hadn't really put much pressure on villian despite being to his left. Given that, is the third barrel OK or a bit of a spew? I picked up a draw on the turn so could have checked (?) .. but if I do and miss I guess I have little credibility to bluff. I'm not asking for comments pre-flop - I know that 74s isn't a monster! Looks like he has a weak ace. Does he fold it? Probably not.
I like rest of the hand though. |

It sure looks like a blocking bet by him there, a boat is probably betting a bit bigger for value. Based on your comments it would be pretty gutsy for him to call that river with anything he wouldn't raise preflop. Unless you think he's gonna third level you it looks like a mandatory raise.

I would bet more on the turn. I like your river play, though some TAGs will bet small so they don't feel bad calling knowing that it is an obvious block.

I like...(Little bit bigger raise would be better though)...
However, this is no good if villan is capable of deliberatly inducing bluffs.. |

How did this hand end?
And yeah, it sure looks like a blocking bet by me... |

if villain is in the hole he is more likely to snapcall this with A7. i mean, i like the raise in general, do it in the future, but this spot i think you get a tilty snapcall from a weak ace or even something like QJ.

[/ QUOTE ] He did fold in this case. I thought he may fold a weak ace, given my image and his style (but probably wouldn't), but would fold worse. I suspect he may have had KQ or something, but he may have had a weak ace. After betting, when he was thinking, I thought it may be a bit of a spew as it looks like a weak-ish ace that he'd have to call with. Maybe it's an OK play, with a slight gain over folding. |
