7 handed. UTG+1 limps. I raise with AJo in the SB. SenorFlush from Partypoker fame 3-bets in the BB. We know eachother somewhat well and have lots of history both from internet battles and lots of hours vs eachother the past week. SenorFlush also has a nice little rivalry with the limper, and those two are going back and forth quite often. He even says outloud, "I would have called but you are in so I have to 3-bet." Limper folds, I call.
Flop T98. I check, he bets, I raise, he calls. Turn 9. I check, he bets. Can/should I checkraise here? Can he call down with 66? I feel like he has a small pocket pair here so often. If I check/call the turn is the river a check/fold barring improvement (ie T, 8, Q, 7, J, A)? |

i dont think bluffing on this board is a good idea with your table image.
getting 3-bet sucks. |

What stopped you from betting the turn? I guess if he has 66 two c/r's is more likely to get him to laydown than one and a turn lead??

Online, this guy won't ever fold a piece of that board.

I think you are better off in this hand calling the flop and checkraising the turn, but the way you played it I would just bet the turn. I don't think checkraising the turn is worth it. Having checked the turn, I would just call.

Mr. Schneids,
I don't really see why you are putting him on a small pocket pair. All he could have is 66, 55, and maybe 44. I haven't played with SenorFlush (unless he is the same as the 30/60 player "SenorPasta"), but the majority of TAGs in the mid-limit games I play would just call in the BB with all 3 of those hands because limpers so rarely fold for 2. I think he is way more likely to have an overpair waiting to raise a non straight turn, AK, AJ, or AQ. If I was betting the turn it would be so that he folds AK, which he should imo. Depending on how good this guy is, he might not even fold 66 on the turn because he could have up to 6 outs. |

c/r the turn is a nice play schneids. he probably folds some hands that beat you if that happens.

Mike,
Trying to check-raise the turn here is fairly bad IMO. Your whole line is suspecious enough that he's either going to check behind (not necessarily a terrible result for you), or bet and be prepared to call down. |

That is why I like the more typical call the flop/check raise the turn line because it looks more legitimate. Taking a weird line means he might look you up just cuz you look like a tricky fella. |

I only play like 5/10 but I think checkraising this sort of flop against someone you know plays online isn't a very good play, waiting for the turn is probably much better, although much more expensive.
