I\'ve never seen someone so hateful after winning $400
My first trip to San Manuel, I sat 3/6 and had been playing for 15 minutes. Flop is AAJ, turn is an A. The floor is called over. Riv is a rag, one guy turns up kings, the other AJ. Jackpot! The decrepit old hag in the 5 seat with 3 racks stacked in front of her was so excited at her $400 table share that she flung her hands in the air, knocking the mostly-full top rack into the pot
She started bitching that the jackpot winner next to her had knocked her rack in but no one was buying it. So in addition to the jackpot paperwork, the floor guy did his best to reconstruct the action to figure out how much she should get back. She got really nasty and took on a striking resemblance to the old woman in the Goonies, swearing about how she was out $50, how no one should tip that dealer ever again, etc. etc. Bad beat share of the jackpot was $5,500, pretty sweet. I tried to tip the floor guy for doing his best to resolve the situation but he wouldn't accept it. BTW they have very nice staff at San Man from what I saw. Nice wood panelled poker room, very tasteful. The only thing I didn't like was the leather-like table material. Cards stuck to it like glue. |

I don't understand what you mean by "mostly-full top rack".

She had two full racks stacked on atop the other, with a third rack on top of those with maybe $80 in it.

Some people are just douchebags, simple as that. They are never happy and always willing to shoot an angle for another $20 bucks the second the get the chance.

I didn't know that many (any) poker rooms would let you leave your chips racked while on the table? This is a pretty good example of why chips should be stacked up and out of the racks I guess. Pretty humorous story though. Shame she had to be a jerk about the whole ordeal.

Re: I\'ve never seen someone so hateful after winning $400
I was sitting a table once where a 70ish guy had just hit the bad beat for $15,000, had ordered 4 double martinis when noon time came around, gotten a little screwed up, wanted to leave, racked his chips up, and then got in a horrible war of words with another old man who insisted he either leave or take his chips out of the rack. The 70ish man said, "Well stand up bitch," and the other older man said, "You crazy malechickenksucker." It escalated rather quickly, the supervisor came running over and proceeded to ban the 70ish man from the poker room for the rest of the day. Thats the only time I've seen someone win a bad beat jackpot and get barred the same day. Talk about being ungrateful.
