I play in WA state, but want it to look like...
How do I make it look like I'm playing outside Washington state?

Re: I play in WA state, but want it to look like...
i think your only hope is a proxy service or an anonymizer service. Im not sure either of those will work with poker software though. Anonymizer.com has some software that might help but like I said I dont know if the poker software will work with it. Their netsheild product might fit the bill. I used their anonymous surfing before when it was just a browser plugin all traffic went via a proxy they owned if netsheild does the same it might work. You should check with them.

Re: I play in WA state, but want it to look like...
i haven't used this personally, but i'm told it is a viable solution for poker.
PersonalVPN - http://www.witopia.net/personalmore.html (requires a $/yr subscription) all of your internet traffic will be routed through a secure connection, your internet provider will only see the encrypted traffic, while you see what seems to be a regular internet connection. (i realize it is not a free solution, but it is a very user friendly solution) |

Will this work if they force ISP's to block our access to gambling sites? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, this should probably still work as well. However, Washington State is not allocating any more resources (which means none) to find online gamblers. This is more or less just a piece of legislation to stir up people and act like something is going on. Historically, ISP's are loathe to enforce these types of laws - think Clinton and the Clipper chip BS. |

Personally I think you would want to hide your IP, that could be done by surfing through a special site or installing special software. Not sure it is legal though..

Sarge[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] there is pretty much no way they'll be enforcing this, officers of the law have far better things to do. that said, it's better to be safe than sorry. |
