this is what phil laak calls it anyway. basically, he says he thought it up when he realized that its hard to win alot of chips when you make the nut flush on the turn. his 'strategy' is to push allin on the turn (when he makes the flush) and flip over his ace before going into the tank.
he reports that its worked, what do you think? viable stategy, unethical, or borderline? i dont see anything wrong with it, but thats just me. -pug |

There are a couple of things I don't understand here.
One is your use of "going into the tank." In the words of Inigo Montoya, I do not think it means what you think it means. Another is why Phil Laak calls it "Shower Shuffle." |

its just an angle shoot. [/ QUOTE ] It's not an angle shoot. A key component of being an angle shoot is that the play is unethical. |

i dont get it [/ QUOTE ] The idea is obviously that if you don't show your cards, your opponent will fear you've made a flush. But, if you show just the Ace of the flush suit, your opponent may suspect that you just have the nut flush draw and will call you. |

It was from a column of has in (Bluff?)
Have Axs, get flush in a NL cash game, push all-in, villian goes in tank, flip over Ace (If room allows), villian thinks you are drawing and calls, you are winnar. Phil calls it that because he was in the shower when he thought of the idea. |

That's seems to be quite a few on the forums these days. |

I have no problem with this play. I actually pulled it in a live game about two weeks ago. Managed to win a 400BB pot with 300BB going in on the river. He had a set I rivered my flush. He checked I moved in way overbetting he pot, then turned my Ax. He then thought for about 5mins eventually flipped a coin and called.
I really dont see a problem with it. But I would be hesitant to pull it on certain opponents ie those bigger than me that could kick my ass. |
