Re: Absolute Poker Scandal: An Inside Job
I completely agree we are about to see an entire population of idiots and self righteous "told you sos" come out en masse.
Online poke will weather this and come out better on the other side if we stick with it and keep fighting the good fight. I am convinced. We just have to take a long run outlook on it. |

[ QUOTE ] Anyone else bothered that the IDIOTS who, after you told them you made steady money through online poker, used to tell you that online poker was rigged and people could use programs to see your cards were right?...I know its got me awake at 8:05 when i havent been up before noon in months [/ QUOTE ] mmm, nope. these ppl are still idiots. no one can cares to see your .02/.04 lhe holds. [/ QUOTE ] Also, remember how we said it wasn't worth it for poker sites to risk rigging deals, since if word got out they'd be in deep [censored] and might lose their entire customer base? Turns out we were right, too. |

Re: Absolute Poker Scandal: An Inside Job
I have read the the threads on this and would like to thank and congratulate the super sleuths who are on the case.
I would like to make a couple of observations and a suggestion. Chip dumping and the use of involving friends - I presume the reason the chip dumping took place was to firstly show that not only can they win big by cheating but lose big whilst under scrutiny. Dan I think eluded to having friends help the perpertrator of this scam to cash out so that he can get his hands on the money and these seems a reasonable assumption. Could it also be the case that cheater has just set up or used dormant accounts to "store" money on until the heat is off and then start making small withdrawals at a later stage? Do we know whether the recipients of the dumping are accounts in costa rica or located elsewhere? I am not sure if this has been answered or not but if the accounts are in the control of just one person and that person knowing the limits allowed to be withdrawn without arising suspision then having control of these accounts and the bank details associated to them seems to make sense rather involving third parties to his deception. In addition do we know whether there have been any withdrawals from these accounts - I ask as from AP's view point if these accounts have not had withdrawal requests from perhaps their investigations revealed that there were no attempts to withdraw money and as such leads them (incorrectly) to assume that no wrong doing has occured in their first investigation. My suggestion is that we start a thread as to what questions do we want answered by independent auditors: I would like the "where did the money go?" to be answered and What type of accounts were set up by the original programmers to test their software? and what transpires from that line of questioning. Thanks Geoff p.s. not sure if cliff notes thread done yet or not - could not see one |
