Re: OFFICIAL YANKEES 2005 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS OR BUST THREAD
If you don't see why Giambi should be batting 2nd in the lineup and not 6th then you shouldn't be posting in this thread.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] okay, since now else wants to bump this awesome thread and aska question that needs to be asked... why the [censored] does torre bat cano second? hey JOE, he has a .303 OBP. [/ QUOTE ] Because Torre is an idiot. The Yankees won the 4 rings despite him, not because of him. Any manager who didn't win those 4 rings managing teams as talented as those would be an embarrasssment. If Torre knew what he was doing then he would bat Giambi second. [/ QUOTE ] Giambi? really? not exactly the prototypical #2 hitter. I'm not defending batting Cano there, but Giambi batting 2nd isn't the greatest idea either. [/ QUOTE ] I know what you're probably thinking. Giambi doesn't have blazing speed so he sometimes clogs the bases. That's true, but it's not like Cano is that fast either. Simply put, giving a 30% OBP guy a lot more plate apperances than a guy with a 45% OBP is just stupid. |

Truth be told though, Randy didn't pitch that badly.
That pitch that Widgett hit was shoulder high and it's amazing that he got such good wood on it. Konerko also hit a good pitch and it's just amazing that they hit 4 home runs off him in one inning. |

AL Wild Card leaders. hell ya. only 3.5 back of boston, and we have 3 more games with the BJs, 3 vs KC and then 3 vs Seattle. The Yanks could have a 1 game lead in the division by the end of the month.
