Hugo Weaving. (All solid films, never the star)
Macaulay Culkin (Sure laugh, but once he hits the 20 movie plateau it is likely the only negatives will be Home Alone 2 & 3.) |

Robert Duvall (for the most part) - that awful Tom Cruise NASCAR abortion.
Rod Steiger / Richard Burton / Peter Otoole (hard to find a bunch of duds among this bunch) |

Denzel, Crowe and Hanks are all good answers, but I'm a little surprised no one has mentioned Morgan Freeman. Check out his run from about 1988 onward. Mostly good stuff.
But the clear winner is... Al Pacino, 1971-1975 and 1989-present*. Subtracting for the two years that he made Gigli and S1m0ne that's still 20 years. *See also "Scarface," 1983. |

Yeah, true. What about Kevin Spacey? I don't think I've seen a lot of his movies, but I can't think of any bad ones. The Negotiator, but I wouldn't say that was bad, it was decent, I thought. [/ QUOTE ] He was in Pay It Forward and that is one of the worst movies I have ever seen and it takes A LOT for me not to like a movie. |

[ QUOTE ] Damn, I was gonna say Denzel the second I saw this list. Okay then, I'll go with Christian Bale. [/ QUOTE ] QFMFT-- this guy doesnt [censored] around, 90% of any movie he signs on for he KNOWS is going to be good, and he doesnt sign on for [censored]/typical roles either-- he takes on the most challenging and diversifiede roles possible, unlike Denzel who takes on the same role in just about every movie, not saying hes bad, hes fantastic, but Christian Bale wins this thread, /thread. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. Man has serious acting skills and seems to look for roles where he can push it to the limit, he is amazing! |

Well, not fer nuthin'............
......but From "Bang the Drum Slowly" 1973 until around 2000, Robert DeNiro has not been in many bow-wows, and the ratio of Superb to average has got to be higher than most any other actor? |
