[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Reggie Bush is super underated, don't understand the hate on him. Look at him doing exactly what "he couldnt" Take the full load... [/ QUOTE ] When has he taken the full load as a RB? He isn't even averaging 15 carries a game. b [/ QUOTE ] Why does that even matter? [/ QUOTE ] You don't think that matters in regards to being a 'full load' back? When a back is carrying a 'full load' it usually means they're getting, or could easily handle, at least 20+ carries a game. This is different than just 'touches' a game. Which is why full time backs tend to take a beating a little more since they're usually going through defensive linemen more regularly. b [/ QUOTE ] Giving one RB the "full load" is both short term -EV and long term very -EV. |

Re: Adrian Peterson is not Overrated, statistical comparison CTaylor -
Anyone who says that he is overrated has probably never watched him play.
His acceleration in hitting the holes is simply unsurpassed by anyone in the league. Yes, he sometimes makes mistakes, but give him a break, he is a rookie and has plenty of time to learn. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Feel free to offer some prop bets on AP's next 8 games. [/ QUOTE ] You still dont get what I'm saying. Unless your interested in a "Adrian Peterson will make more out of nothing than anybody else" type of bet. I dont have faith to place a bet that would require the Vikings to do well in considering they are most likely going to play with their 3rd string QB next week. I never said that I think the Viking's are going to do well, I sung praises about Adrian Peterson. The Vikings held LT under 50 yards, does he suck or did his team suck resulting in him appearing to suck? If the Viking suck (likely) Peterson wont reach the #'s necessary to win whatever bet you would do. He owns the record for the most rushing yards in a game ever, when Reggie Bush or whoever else is "your guy" that is so much better gets within 200 yards rushing on the season than we can begin to talk... in other words: I'm not even entirely sure what your trying to argue but I think that its safe to assume whatever it is, if your arguing against Peterson, your losing the argument. [/ QUOTE ] quoted for awesomeness. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Watching him in college left me with a large man crush on Reggie Bush. I think Peterson is a MUCH better back for the pro game. However, he needs to run with more care for his body, or he's going to miss a fuckload of games. [/ QUOTE ] Injuries happen to all RBs. Avoiding the hits is obviously a useful skill but eventually injuries will happen to everybody. You can only hope its not too serious such as an ACL. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, everybody gets hurt. Some people get hurt a lot more than others because they insist on jumping around and throwing themselves into people without any regard for their own goodwill. [/ QUOTE ] Alot of times they get injured trying to avoid the injury rather than just running hard. b [/ QUOTE ] Surely much of his success is due to his attitude. It's about how you approach the game. I was a hell of a lot better/more successful at NLHE when I was more reckless. If AP "learns" to be more careful with his body, it will decrease his value significantly. |

[/ QUOTE ] YEAH! You're starting to get it Thayer! You're starting to understand Bernie's point. Bush, as a part-time RB has a really good deal. What he has made of that isn't impressive even for a full-load RB. At 3.8 YPC, he ranks 18th of 25 qualifying RBs (at least 6.25 carries per game). Julius Jones and Marion Barber (both of Dallas) both rank better than Bush. As do both TB's RBs, CAR's and NYGs. |

Re: Adrian Peterson is not Overrated, statistical comparison CTaylor -
Last year he ran for 5 ypc over the last 8 games without a run over 18 yards. He's at 4.5 ypc over the last 4 games without a run over 22. Sure, I'm being arbitrary, but Bush will eventually get a good downfield block and those 20 yards will magically become 75. Then everyone will wonder "where has Bush been?"
