So I saw Becks on the front page of USA Today.

Also, apparently the Galaxy have already sold 250,000 Beckham jerseys.

How much of that represents sales in the US vs. abroad?

This Telegraph article (David Beckham's value to Galaxy could rocket) argues that much of the value of bringing in Beckham is that it makes global tour appearances by the LA Galaxy more lucrative.

Anyone happen to hear what Jim Rome had to say about Beckham? I know he was going to discuss the transfer on his show but I missed it . . .

. . . curious what he had to say considering he hates soccer.

Rumors are that the Galaxy will be going to London next year to play Chelsea in a friendly:

Comments from FC Dallas coach Steve Morrow about Beckham and MLS

Tasty nugget in there about the quality of the league, especially in comparison to the EPL.

Better nugget here

Cooke and Dichio have both played in several different tiers of the English game and roughly agree on what sort of standard Beckham can expect.

Cooke believes that the standard has improved since he arrived and now reckons "most teams would hold their own at Championship level".

Dichio also thinks Beckham should prepare himself for a Championship standard.

"It is a very quick league, quite physical and it has surprised me how good it is technically," said Dichio.
