What is a good amount in limit 6max ?

I nominate this thread for most content in an NC thread ever.

I like to buyin for 20-40BB. You essentially don't want to be starting with less than 12BB on any hand. Because if that's the hand that you flop your royal and they get their aces full, you're going to be kicking yourself. I had that happen once shortstacked. Thankfully I was playing 5/10c so I don't feel like I missed out on a lot of money, just the pride of the bet count.

Let me refrase my question:

When taking a shot at a higher level in NL 6max usual advice is to take five buyin shots .. you lose five buyins then you move down

What is the equivalent standard shot taking (not short stacking) amount recommended for taking shots in 6max LHE

In in NL if you want to move up aggressively you move up when you have 15 buyins for the next level and drop down if you lose 5 buyins thus leaving you with 20 buyins for the level below


So in limit you ... ??

Umm... however much you're comfortable with losing? I haven't hard of any "standard" for shots, thought there is the 300-500BB bankroll for each level.
