Re: People who should be more famous than they are
[ QUOTE ]
Alexander Hamilton, arguably the most brilliant of the founding fathers. [/ QUOTE ] He should be more famous? Wtf? Being on U.S. currency isn't fame enough? Not only that there are referneces to him in pop culture today (e.g. Aaron Burr Milk ad, oh yeah, also "you can call us Aaron Burr from the way we're droppin' Hamiltons"). How much more famous do you think he should be?? |

Re: People who should be more famous than they are
although rock stars have been flamed already....
i nominate "Steve Howe" of YES ( roundabout, all good people ) fame. he's my choice for greatest musician of all time, much less, best guitarist. for 5 years straight, Guitar Player magazine, agreed with me. his eclectic resume reveals virtuosity in every major style of music, including Rock, Prog Rock, Country, Classic, Flamenco, Ragtime, New Age, and others. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Howe_%28guitarist%29 |

Re: People who should be more famous than they are
[ QUOTE ]
Alan [censored] Turning is the most correct answer possible. He was the most influential person (except for perhaps Churchill) in the success of the Allies in WWII. And nobody has heard of him. [/ QUOTE ] I've heard of a similar guy named Turing. Nittiness aside, I think your statement is probably hyperbole, but there's no doubt that Turing was a very sharp guy. I think he's actually pretty famous already, though. I bet you could find a lot of people who know who Turing is but couldn't name five other twentieth century mathematicians. |

Macaulay Culkin really should've been more famous after his Home Alone stint. He did PageMaster and Richie Rich but after that he fell off the face of the planet for 10 years and now he is in some random movies nobody probably will watch.

Re: People who should be more famous than they are
The chick who played Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCLA in mathematics, has her name on a mathematical proof, and has written a book called Math Doesn't Suck for jr. high girls. I think that's pretty cool.
