Re: Arizona State Poker Championship - Satellites are running
Also, does anyone know how long the rounds are supposed to be or anything? I'm thinking about showing up late, 9am is way too early for me.

I don't like how they've removed some essential levels. It's not as slow as it looks but overall...pretty good structure. |

Re: Arizona State Poker Championship - Satellites are running
Although not likely, I wonder what will happen if it doesn't fill up? (with regards to payout)

Interesting, new forum for me to check out...lets see if it is worthwhile, I am sure Howard and Hass will be on there quickly.

[ QUOTE ]
I was. At 50/100, guy open raised to 400 UTG+1, we were 6 handed, and he had the chip lead, and I had 2200 in the BB, and it was folded to me, and I pushed with TT and he insta called with AQ. I may be results oriented, but maybe a stop and go would have worked better (especially since the A came on the turn). At least I can't lose at cash games. [/ QUOTE ] If you just call, what are you going to do when the flop comes KJ rag? Or if an ace flops? You won't get a big pair that often in a satellite. I think you made the right play, and found yourself in a great situation. I.e. you wanted him to call. 57% of the time you become the new chip leader with almost a third of the chips in play, and that means a 1/3 (or better) chance of winning the whole tourney. Probably more because you can steal at will after this hand. |

Re: Arizona State Poker Championship - Satellites are running
Wow, that's a really top-heavy payout structure. I guess they do it like that so they can advertise the 250K first place. 3rd-4th and 10th-11th are huge drops. I'd be surprised if some deals weren't made along the way to flatten it a bit.

Re: Arizona State Poker Championship - Satellites are running
Were the hell did that forum come from? Howard? Pope? anyone?
At the rate this is going they are going to have to have about 10 sattelites for there to be a full field. I don't see that many people paying to get in, maybe I'm wrong. |
