Yeah, basically I figured I'd have to SCKM if someone caught 4-8 outer and cold calling just made things really akward but then instead of pushing I thought 6k might look like more of a steal for some reason so I did that and everyone folded. [/ QUOTE ] I guess it never hurts to leave some rope, but you did price him in for the open ender, assuming you pay off when he hits. |

Re: 50/100 bottom set, dry board OOP
its a similar spot to when you've got kings preflop facing a 3-bet cold. shove (or at least 4-bet) is better than call, because its your best chance to represent a move, aka a weaker hand than you have. that, and if they have outs, it doesnt allow them to catch up without paying the full price.
i'm not sure if i prefer a shove or a smaller 4bet here, whichever you think will seem weaker. Also, as far as calling and weakleading turn goes, I think any good player should recognize that as weak means strong and get away from their hand. You might be able to catch AA or KK that way in the hands of the preflop raiser, but i'm not sure. coldcalling a raise after overcalling preflop is pretty obviously strong, unless they think you're a donkey. also, is there a fish in the game? cause if not, why are you playing 50/100? |

Re: 50/100 bottom set, dry board OOP
so is cold-call and weak lead turn a good line for a stone cold bluff here? or a draw? i dont think so at all bec i highly doubt you ever get a fold from a decent overpair/two pair with that line...

Re: 50/100 bottom set, dry board OOP
Well my point about coldcall-weaklead is that its kind of an obvious deliberately weak line. Like, the kind of line you'd take with a big hand becuase you want it to look weak. It will maybe be more likely to get action from AA/KK, but what are you representing with that kind of a line, if they know you're a solid player?
