Re: Recruiting Writers for the Internet Magazine
Heisenb3rg is probably the best prospect for this in SSSH. He's a very good player and tends to write long posts.
Others off the top of my head: ILOVEPOKER929 is an innovator of LH strategy IMO. Doesn't post as much as he used to though. Oink has been an excellent poster in SSSH. You should also ask StellarWind when he gets back. He doesn't post much anymore, but his insights about the game are some of the best I've seen posted in the short-handed forums. |

Re: Recruiting Writers for the Internet Magazine
[ QUOTE ]
Bump. I had lunch with Mason, Mat, and Kiera today. It was decided to make a new effort to recruit some fresh writers into the Magazine. So, again, I'm asking for reccomendations from the moderators on who we can approach to become regular contributors going forward. [/ QUOTE ] You guys might already have him but Foucault from the MTT forums is a very good writer and smart guy. Also i'd be willing to get involved as well, if you'd like to see my writing i have a blog up that has a ton of stuff and i post a lot in HSMTT. What kind of things are you all looking for? |

Re: Recruiting Writers for the Internet Magazine
From FRNL I'd give MyTurn2Raise, threads13 and bottomset a yell. Renton and GrandMelon are two of our best posters/players but I'm not sure they're really into essay style writing. I think Renton would be into it moreso than GrandMelon but they're both def worth a look. Other good possibilities would be the_main, and Mr_Donktastic.
There are some good micro posters if you're looking for perspective from that angle but I'm not sure if that's really what you're after. Let me know if you are. Edit: Also QTip. |

Re: Recruiting Writers for the Internet Magazine
From Other Poker:
Chinese Poker: MarkGritter Limit Triple Draw: Badugi2641 Pot limit TD, probably myself. As far as I'm aware, I'm the only 2+2er who regularly plays that game. 5CD: I have no idea. |

[/ QUOTE ] Actually, its a bad game for the completely opposite reason: it plays very tight because you don't really have the odds to call PSB's and if your opponent is good you don't have implied odds. Average pots are around 5ptbb. Whiney, can you think of anyone you like for 5CD? |

Whiney, can you think of anyone you like for 5CD? [/ QUOTE ] I dont like 5CD. Nothing like an article that appeals to all 3 people who play (who happen to live in Russia). I tried writing a magazine article but got nowhere. It became a book, then I abandoned it. Problem is some of my posts turn out to be articles, I'm too impulsive to plan in advance. Mat sent me a PM yesterday asking if I am done being whiney. I think I said my back hurts. |
