Where is this from? Is this from a public statement or email to players, or are you doing their PR now? Why isn't an AP rep posting this if they desire to make this public?

I checked their press release page and there is nothing:
http://www.absolutepoker.com/media/press-releases.asp

It's great they're compensating players, but it's the least they can do if they want to stay in business. This statement is more of the [censored] with no details. They've have never stopped stonewalling and releasing as little as they can possibly get away with.

How much Pokertars released on the WCOOP incident? Not much more ...

P.S. Sorry if I missed some important thread/news of the pokerstars cheating scandal.

Upon learning of the incident, AP immediately contacted Gaming Associates, an independent worldwide expert in audits, interactive gaming tests and information security, to undertake an internal investigation

[/ QUOTE ]

Wasn't their immediate reaction was to issue a statement that no cheating went on?

Yes. We have a zoo thread confirming that in addition to many other places.
It's pretty clear that with the cheaters probably having influence/control over the initial inquiries they were able to stop the inquiry for some time.

Absolute would come away looking so much better owning up to that and then explaining why the cheaters had basic control of the day to day operations that way.

Oh wait... that's right. They can't explain that because that's exactly what happened.

My guess is they are unable to speak publicly about the coverup because to do so would involve revealing how much control the “consultants” had (have?) over the company.

9. AP is instituting strict guidelines to restrict its employees, consultants and contractors and members of their households from playing for money on its sites.

WOW! AP has created a world-altering idea. Companies all around the world should adopt policies that ban employees from participating in "random" games and contests.

Oh wait...
