pwnsall,

Cincy 20. Kansas 21. Georgia Tech 22. South Florida 23. Louisville 24. Washington 25. Purdue [/ QUOTE ] Why are these teams ahead of Nebraska and a few other teams? Nebraska is a 2-1 team but their SOS is 17th. Rutgers' is 184, Kansas' is 166, Purdue is 147 and Louisville is a 1 loss team as well and their SOS is 130. Kansas isn't even the second best team in the Big XII North--Mizzou is. Rutgers and Purdue haven't played anyone, so I am wondering what you are basing some of these on. Just curious. |

Re: NCAAF rankings after week 3
It's hard to answer this actually. Basically after 18th I wasn't sure where to go so I picked a few teams I thought may surprise and a couple with a loss I still thought were good. I could be way off obviously and probably won't know for a while. Nothing against Nebraska they just haven't looked very good when I've watched them.
I'm surprised you didn't comment on Cincinnati or Arizona State, who was probably the biggest reach and I probably should have dropped a few but I didn't want to change it. Edit: I just looked at Sagarin's rankings and mine seem comparable enough, though it's obviously a small sample size. |

[/ QUOTE ] Cincy's last two wins, IMO were impressive. I did think you had ASU way too high but I didn't mention them b/c I couldn't decide if Nebraska should be ahead of them out of the teams I had mentioned. I think Nebraska is a much better football team and time should prove this, but as of right now--ASU's 3-0 against 3 below average teams puts them right around Nebraska at 2-1 w/ a tough schedule. I mentioned the others b/c 3-0 against cake teams should not put you ahead of a team who's only loss is to the #1 team in the country and has played a far tougher schedule. Oh well it doesn't matter right now anyway, these ranking change so dramatically from week to week anyway =) |

Re: NCAAF rankings after week 3
[ QUOTE ]
What if LSU and Florida split their games and both finish 12-1, USC finishes 12-1 and Oklahoma and Ohio State both run the table? [/ QUOTE ] Add WVU and BC running the table as well. All hell breaks loose. Hell substitute Ok and OSU for WVU & BC as the only undefeated's .... now wtf happens? The "people" would want USC vs SEC neutral field winner, but what would the computer say? |
