Re: Absolute Cheating
[ QUOTE ]
I am not sure if it was absolute but do poker sites not have delayed coverage of some MTT's on tv shows. To be able to show the MTT's on tv they would need an account that can view all the hole cards. I know prima used to have cash tv tables that where delayed. If somehow someone has the account details for the tv account then they could just log into that account and then use any other account to play. This would then look like the other accounts where doing nothing wrong. Mark [/ QUOTE ] Not sure why so many people seem to think this. It is really quite simple. Just as you can save HHs to your hard drive, so does any major site save (probably with multiple backups) every hand history every dealt on their site. The only difference is that in those HHs, all cards dealt to all players are shown. This does not mean that there is an admin account for the site which could replicate this. Of course, given recent events, it does not mean that such accounts do not exist anyway. Fell |

Re: Absolute Cheating
The reason they have probs been so sloppy in covering their tracks is they had a limited time to pull this off. Maybe the account they use has its password changed every month and they would not be able to get the new password. They may have been using this system for the last month and the password is going to be changed soon. So they trying to get as much money as possible. Then again they may just be crap at poker. This could be just an experiment to a question that was asked in the poker Theory forum. "Would it be possible in a day to make a million if you know your oponents hole cards?"

Re: Absolute Cheating
For the next cliffnotes thread, whoever makes it, can you divide it into 4 sections:
1) Executive summary (just take pokeraddict's summary and update it with whatever you think is important from this link) 2) Pokertracker evidence (pokertracker stats, THEN hand histories) 3) Links/Theories (circumstantial evidence stuff goes here) 4) Humor Just so people can look at the front page and not see a sea of hand histories. I can rewrite the summary and add in things after it's posted. Adanthar is gone for the next two weeks so I will help out on these threads when I have time. |

[/ QUOTE ] There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to be able to see every player's hole cards in real time. Your MTT on TV example could also use delayed feed of the hands. As for catching collaborators/cheaters, they don't have to have the HH-s in real time. If I was responsible for the fairness of the games, I'd ensure that the working build of the software server wouldn't release the HH-s to any database or memory without being encrypted or whatever necessary, before the hand is over. There shouldn't be ANY access in any way whatsoever to the HH-s before teh damn hand is OVER. By admins, god or even phil hellmuth. Theoretically, that is not mission impossible, right? (question for software developers and data security specialists) |

I'd love to get a comment from Fossilman in here for good measure. I'd be really interested in what his opinion of this whole mess is.

Re: Absolute Cheating

As usual, PA is on the money. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks everyone! It needed more detail at Casinomeister I thought since so few are poker players there and they are even less likely to use and fully understand PT. There is one guy beyond the shill that doesn't seem to understand. It's probably pointless to try and explain it to them. BTW Schneids I hope you fixed my typos. I noticed a couple in my post after it got quoted and I read it again. As for "The Watchdog" he has related accounts here at 2+2 with known AP shills. Those that visit the zoo will certainly remember Pokermachine. He finally came clean about being in management of AP after months of spamming us. After he went away several new AP spammer/shill accounts appeared. BTW great work to all involved for exposing this. You have all done a major service to the poker community. |

[/ QUOTE ]They are in server memory (as the server needs to know what the hole cards were) and they get sent over the wire to each participant. So if you get to the server or its network you can get the hole cards (it can be made difficult though). |

[/ QUOTE ] calvinhobbes was a high stakes reg before he won the bbj. He hit it at a 15/30 table i believe. I also don't think he got raped afterwards. He final tabled the $150k a week later. |
