If we were 100BB deep, I probably would've shoved. But shoving when we're both 140+BB deep is a much strong move than if we're at 100BB. If I had a better read or villain had shown the least bit of aggression (aside from the .25 flop bet) I would've gotten it in.

Small bet flop, small bet turn, overbet river is never a bluff and almost always the nuts. I doubt many at $25NL have considered this, but just putting it out there, in case you're playing against smart opponents.

Also the fact that he got called could have been due to the odd river bet size he made. When a player sees a shove the tend to think a little more about what is going on. I dont think the we can conclude that the villan calls what like $11 more on the river than our over bet for value. |
