I had record losing and winning days back-to-back a few days ago.
I won't lie - the swings still affect me psychologically/emotionally more than they should. I'm working on it. |

What you should do is look at your big pots lost and won after every session and figure out why you lsot them. If you tilt, you need to stop playing when you become irritated.
Learn from your mistakes and pat yourself on the pat for playing good poker in the pots you played well but lost. Even if you are results orientated, you should look at the the result of your poker ability instead and commend yourself on playing well. The money result is natural variance which comes with the job. For a poker player to not expect and nearly welcome variance is the equivelant of a bar owner being upset that he has to pay salary. Once you accept variance as part of the game you start playing better poker. |

I'm trying not to let emotion into poker to kill tilt. If I win, so be it, if I lose, so be it. I made the right move for the situation, so I should always be happy.

I'm on a 10bi downswing at 1/2 and i really dont give a [censored]. As long as I'm playing well that's all that matters. don't try to make money or EXPECT to make money every day. I just look at the end of the month and expect to make money then.

Convince yourself that you are playing well or that you learned from the hands you played poorly. I had a pretty big dswing last month (at least in terms of imsabuys), and the main reason I grinded through it was I was confident I was playing well, not tilting, etc. Good ways to checkup: 1: Talking about hands over AIM 2: PokerEV 3: Pokerstove 4: Posting hands in the forum [/ QUOTE ] I wonder how your AIM CONVO went.. lol |
