Re: Train Etiquette Questions
[ QUOTE ]
Holding a door is actually helpful. Bless you accomplishes nothing. [/ QUOTE ] Fair enough. I still would rather have people be more polite than not, most people lack basic social skills. |

Re: Train Etiquette Questions
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Train Etiquette Questions I take the train to work everyday. It is about a 30-35 minute commute. I’ve noticed some situations that happen regularly where I am unsure of the proper solution. 1. You are sitting next to someone who sneezes. Do you say, "Bless you?" [/ QUOTE ] WTF? Your ability to be polite is compromised because you are on a train? [/ QUOTE ] Many people think saying god bless you is annoying, rather than polite. [/ QUOTE ] Who are these many people? I'm an avowed apathiest and I've never been annoyed by a 'bless you'. If they are so annoyed by god in their sneeze, try 'gesundheit'. [/ QUOTE ] Random people telling me bless you is pretty retarded. What is the point? They don't know me, i don't know them and its an automatic response they learned as a kid. Its probably a bigger issue for me since i sneeze more than your average person. For instance if I walk outside and its sunny i'll sneeze. [/ QUOTE ] Better than someone saying [censored] you, although for your nittiness it's probably more appropriate. |

Re: Train Etiquette Questions
You can but don't be surprised when you catch crap for it. Getting pissy when strangers are polite to you is pretty stupid.
