Re: $50NL 3-bet pre with JJ gets cc.
[ QUOTE ]
So it's pretty much ok to get stacked off on these kind of boards with JJ ? [/ QUOTE ] I go broke with JJ here because I never expect people to slowplay AA/KK without a read to the contrary. There is exactly ONE hand I worry about here, and that is QQ. And one hand is not enough. With that superlovely turn card I expect villain to be stacking off with a lower fh. The only thing that is a bit worrying here is that you would expect villain to bet flop with all pairs except AA. His play doesnt really make sense to me - but then that happens a lot. I think our best assumption here is that villain is the loose passive type, that coldcalls 3b preflop with broadways and all pairs, and that we are well ahead of his range, and that worse hands will go broke. |

Even if the range is wider, flop is WA/WB...check the flop

Even if the range is wider, flop is WA/WB...check the flop [/ QUOTE ] We have 75% equity against overcards - that is quite a bit ahead, but not WAY ahead (90%+ in my book). I'd bet for protection and value. |

Even if the range is wider, flop is WA/WB...check the flop [/ QUOTE ] Even if it is WA/WB, what advantage is there in checking flop? Are we hoping to get value later in the hand from the hands he checks behind on flop? That seems unlikely unless he improves and if he imporves we're likely toast. And don't we need to protect against his 6/2 outers? {AT+, 66-TT} and loads of other crap are in his preflop range and he might call a flop bet with many of these hands. I just don't think standard WA/WB thinking applies here. What an odd thread. |

Re: $50NL 3-bet pre with JJ gets cc.
What the!?!?!
We have a really good hand. The only hand we're worried about is QQ and very occasionally KK. We should be twrowing money in this pot hand over fist until the villain tells us otherwise. When the 9 come, we go broke. If he has QQ or the case 9, so be it. We have way too much hand here to be fooling around not betting. |

Re: $50NL 3-bet pre with JJ gets cc.
Why are we behind exactly? What sorts of hands smooth call a 3-bet? AK, 22-QQ, maybe sometimes KK, maybe somtimes some weaker As. We have a great hand against the villains range. He's going to give us action with a variety of hands. I am worried about 1 hand and 1 hand only, QQ. If he has it, that's unfortunate. I'll lose some money.

Re: $50NL 3-bet pre with JJ gets cc.
AA,KK,QQ from unknown 25nlers cold call 3bets all the frickin time IME. I'm often tempted to do it myself.

Re: $50NL 3-bet pre with JJ gets cc.
Maybe, but how often do they cold call 3bets with 55, 66, 77, etc...
At 50 this is one of those hands quite often. |
