Re: Swap Lives with Someone from History
[ QUOTE ]
Assuming I had no recollection of the swap, I'd probably choose to be some dumb summbitch from Iowa who had 15 grandkids, lived to be 100 and believed like hell he was goin' to heaven. [/ QUOTE ] Perhaps I would swap with a Taoist Priest/Scholar in a small village in a backwater province of China during the heyday of the Tang Dynasty (~700's). -Zeno |

Duke of Wellington. Be a badass general and fight that damn Napoleon then retire, then be prime minister for a while. |

Re: Swap Lives with Someone from History
I'd love to know what it was like to be Emporer Augustus. Here was a man that at first was against his uncle(Julius Ceaser), then fought against those that betrayed Ceaser. He then turned Rome from the ending days of the republic into a full on Empire. ALso, it'd be cool to be the emporer of one of the most powerful states of history

Re: Swap Lives with Someone from History
Doesn't anyone feel a moral obligation to pick someone like Hitler, and then not exterminate jews or start WWII?

Re: Swap Lives with Someone from History
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Jesus Christ or Kurt Vonnegut or David Byrne [/ QUOTE ] This was what immediately came to my mind. This guy is so talented (I think anyway, as a huge Talking Heads / David Byrne solo fan) and so absolutely bats**t crazy that I would give anything to be able to live as him, provided that the experience started at the early stages of Talking Heads' popularity or before. [/ QUOTE ] Have you read This Must Be the Place: Adventures of Talking Heads in the 20th Century by Mark Bowman? Amazing book, really well written. God, Byrne was such a mad genius |
