Would those workers be better off if CC can no longer compete and goes busto?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, since they can go get a minimum wage job pretty much anywhere, which is what CC is offering them after 10 week wait. So if CC went busto, they could get a minimum wage job without waiting 10 weeks.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why would they have to wait now to get a job OTHER than CC?

They don't. This assumes they want to continue employment at CC. If that is not the case, then there is no downside to CC going BUSTO to the workers. Good thing they didn't organize and let those evil unions in.

I bet if you polled all those vetern workers 6 months ago, the majority would have said that 'unions were a good thing, but their time has passed, no need for them in today's world'. LOL

[/ QUOTE ]

WTF is a union going to do for people who are already fired?

I don't think waiting until you are fired is the time to start thinking about organizing. Traditionally, unions provide assistance to their unemployed workers.

Assistance how? So all the money the employees gave into the union comes back to them minus fees? Yay?

Assistance in finding new employment. Assistance with additional training to make yourself more marketable. Etc.

True. Employers should have every right to employ Pinkerton goons to beat their workers into compliance.
