Re: Has Anyone Used These? (Cat Question)
[ QUOTE ]
my cat is an inside/outside cat, and he has his claws but he still gets his ass kicked on a weekly basis. Any way I can help him learn how to not get his ass kicked? [/ QUOTE ] irony, because I just found a possum in the house we made for the cat, and I "took care" of the possum. I'm hoping our cat wont have problems for a while. |

Just get leather. The cats won't scratch it. rJ_ |

Re: Has Anyone Used These? (Cat Question)
[ QUOTE ]
http://www.softpaws.com Can anyone offer any advice on these nail slipper things? My current cat is prone to scratching [censored] and we can't afford more claw marks on the new place. It's either this or complete nail removal. We're very hesitant to have his nails removed because it's supposed to be pretty painful. There's also other cats/animals which he's likely to have run ins with (haha, a cat brawl) and we don't want him to get his [censored] wrecked. Anyone in favor of one solution over the other? Also, I have no f'in clue how we're going to get him to sit still while we trim his nails and put these little sleeves on. Oh, and wtf @ their colors. Hot pink and blue and [censored] haha he's gonna look like a ghetto black woman. [/ QUOTE ] 1. My cat loathes putting these things on. If you're uncomfortable with using force to pin him down and glue them on then you won't be able to get them on. 2. They do work. The glue is like superglue, so they don't come off easy. 3. They fall off from time to time. As the cat's nails grow back underneath, they eventually fall off. So you have to monitor them to see how many fell off. One really annoying thing is that they don't all fall off at the same time. So to protect your furniture completely, you have to replace then one at a time every week or so. |

Re: Has Anyone Used These? (Cat Question)
I just trim my cats' claws every 2 weeks or so. Seems simpler than the softpaws. Oh, and I'm a bachelor with no nice furniture. That helps too.

He sits like he's people. [/ QUOTE ] Holy [censored], this is hilarious. Do you have to prop him up, or does he always just sit like that? |

Re: Has Anyone Used These? (Cat Question)
We had the same problem until we got a scratching post. Here is a web site that shows a varied selection:
Scratching posts We bought ours at Pet Smart for about $80. Put a little cat nip on it and it solved the problem. |

Holy [censored], this is hilarious. Do you have to prop him up, or does he always just sit like that? [/ QUOTE ] Haha, I just randomly walk in and see him sitting like that. The first few times it was super awkward.. I just kinda slowly stopped walking and I'd be like "Dude, you're a cat" and shove him over on his side. Now it's pretty normal to see him bathing like that. |
