Maybe if the M's won the WS.

If the Cougs ever won a National Championship in football or basketball, then for sure. Not too concerned about that happening most likely.

I agree with the sentiment here. If Oregon won a national title in football or basketball I wouldn't stand a chance. Unfortunately, we don't stand a chance to do either.

I cried when Sevilla won the UEFA Cup, hell I cried when I was listening to the pregame on the radio and the players came out. If they won the Spanish league it would be the same.

I certainly would have cried had the Giants won the WS against the Angels, and was on the verge with the loss. Not sure I would today though.

Definitely teared up when the Red Sox won.

Didn't for any of the Pats wins, however.

For some reason I remember crying when the Lakers lost those couple of times in the 1990s to the Jazz. But none of the Laker titles brought me to tears. I think I would have gotten a little teary eyed if the Bears won this year.

Amazingly I didn't cry when 'Cuse won in '03; I just screamed a lot and woke up my apt building.
If the Bills ever win it'd probably be the same thing. I did get a little watery when NFL films did a special on Buffalo and everything the Bills mean to the city w/ interview clips of Tim Russert.
I guess I'm a sucker for storytelling but I don't really have tears of joy.

I didn't cry, just got incredibly bombed when the Pats beat the Rams. chugged a bottle of champagne.

in 03 and 04 we were expecting to win and already had won recently, so it (sadly) wasn't nearly as emotional.

I was just a kid for the 3 Celtics championships.

the Red Sox WS sweep in 04 was also a bit anti-climactic. the 7 game series vs the Yankees was incredibly epic and emotioanl and draining.

probably the strongest emotion I've ever felt was after Game 7 in Yankee Stadium in 2003. just completely devastated. The Red Sox were the better team , had played better, had the lead late in the game against our bitter bitter rivals...and a completely incompetent manager threw it all away. after this I (and many others) almost gave up baseball. if it wasn't for 04 I'm not sure I could have completely returned, the loss was that devastating.

I cried after this one, but didn't mention it because I didn't think it fit the thread.

I cried because that was the best Red Sox team I had ever seen, and I wondered, "If these guys couldn't get it done, is it EVER going to happen?"

Fortunately, Theo followed that up with a good off-season, to say the least.

BTW, my eyes got a little moist when I typed that post about my father; it happened again when I came back to check the thread, and read the post I had typed about my father; I almost lost it when somebody mentioned the cemetery scenes; and now that the '03 failure has been brought up, it's once again getting a little dusty in here.

No. But it was definitely the pinncacle of the NFL for me. Once it happened, I kinda lost interest in the NFL. I did throughly enjoy that game.(Bucs v Raiders) Might've been coupled with the fact that the team was the biggest joke in the NFL for a long ass time.

Only three teams can make me cry:

Leafs
Packers
Argentina's national soccer team
