My turn in the ABUSE well - 20/180 hand.
Reads: UTG limp is weak and doesn't mean anything much, UTG+1 is your average 20/180 player. Blinds are going up fairly soon.

why [/ QUOTE ] Ok, here's my thinking. As I alerady said above, I give the villain a fairly narrow range of 66-TT, AQ+. I do not think he would be shoving either JJ+ or AJ- in this spot. Against that range my hand is about 38% dog, the limper's dead money makes the call very close to cEV-neutral, somewhat on the -cEV side. Now let's look at implications : FOLD - blinds soon and I'll be down to 6 BB's unless I find a hand and when blinsd go up I'll have no FE. CALL and LOSE - obv. CALL and WIN - I'm up to ~1700 or so, which is 17 BB's now and 10 BB's at the next blind level - I now have some FE to work with. This to me was a way to take the HIGHER VARIANCE LINE when cEV of call/fold is roughly the same. |

[/ QUOTE ] You'd need the pot to be T1250 to be "neutral" on this call and unless there are antes, you're not close (unless you consider 80% of pot equity "close"). And that presumes all of your assumptions are correct and you're not a bigger equity dog. Pushing with this hand is one thing, calling a push seems to me to be bad thinking. While the blinds are going up to BB 200, you were going all-in on the BB anyway, with little or no fold equity. I pass on this hand. I'm guessing you were "right" about the range but lost anyway. |

i feel like your chips can definatly go in a spot better than this [/ QUOTE ] Better stop - like what. Did you look at eth next 3-4 stacks behind me? I have next to no FE NOW, I'l have even less once the blinds go up. I have no guarantee that I will pick up a better hand soon enough or will be in a better spot. Most likely someone will raise my BB and I may have to call off with any 2. Here the action in front of me gives me a fairly good idea of what I'm up against and what my odds are. By the way - I got the idea for this move from a post that I think was made by Exitonly where he pushes 3.2xBB's stack over a 3xBB raise with... J9o. |

Re: My turn in the ABUSE well - 20/180 hand.
According to my calculations, you are puting in 43% of the pot if everyone folds. UTG+1's overbet push is strange. He probably has AK or maybe JJ. In any case, you are way less than 43% against UTG+1's range. Also, you have several players to act, who are calling if they have QQ+ and probably with some other hands. Plus the UTG limper could have a big pair.
Say you are in a live tournament with a big ante and there is a mid position raise. Calling for 3xBB with average cards is usually a good play, because you are ahead of the 2-1 pot odds you are getting. You are completely misapplying this principle, which is relevant with much shorter stacks and with an ante. |

Re: My turn in the ABUSE well - 20/180 hand.
I posted that retarded hand because there were better ways to play it.
The only other option here is to fold. Sorry, but you deserve more abuse for making a dumb thread than for just making a retarded play. |

retarded.
If he has the enormous range of any pair, any 2 broadway you are a 2:1 dog. If you are going to post jokes then just go back to POG |
