Re: 15-30 questionable JTs
Bet out on the flop. If not, check-raise the flop. Bet out on the turn. If not, check-raise the turn. I don't like it at all. What is he folding here on the river that you can beat? You said you might get the impression that hes capable of "big laydowns". However, generally I think even QQ/KK/AA without the flush pays off a great deal of the time here. Possibly out of confusion or just frustration.

Bet or check raise the flop and see where you stand. Why bet the river when the flush draw finally came? Hopefully you understand the simple logic of poker.

Re: 15-30 questionable JTs
Depends on the pot size. I usually pay off the pot when its 10BBs.

I don't have a very good read on the villain [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] he seems typical with the capability of occasional bouts of agression. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I've also get the impression that he is the type that is capable of "big laydowns" and really hates the feeling of paying off a better hand. [/ QUOTE ] So what do you call having a good read on your opponent? pokerisme |

So what do you call having a good read on your opponent? [/ QUOTE ] I suppose what I meant is that I have a read, but I'm not very confident in it. It's mostly an initial impression, not something I've been able to verify over lots of hands. In an effort to finally kill this thread, I'll post the results (in white): Villain just calls the river bet and flips up Ac6h, for the rivered nut flush (good call PJ!). I'm still not sure if his river call was weak-tight play (fearing I had a boat), or expert play since he can figure that I'm not likely to have the Q or K and I won't pay off with anything else. He claimed later that he only looked at one card before raising PF. |
