So you think it's acceptable that the Mets make the Phillies pitching staff look like 12 Cy Young's out there every time we play them? Fine. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Don't worry, if he doesn't Heilman certainly will and then Beltran will strike out with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 9th.

The arguments are not mutually exclusive.

The Mets should have hit better. But Heilman continues to prove that he is a gutless piece of crap who is more likely to fail than succeed in a big spot.

He's finished after 6 innings, so far since his return:

16 IP, 1.69 ERA, 18 H, 3 ER, 0 HR, 4 BB, 17 K

I think it's safe to say that Pedro is not done.

Fair enough. I can't disagree with that. I just happen to think Heilman gets a bad rap. He is what he is. A good but not great reliever.

Last year I think a lot of his inadequacies were hidden by not only the Mets offensive output but also Duaner Sanchez who pitched in more of the later inning higher pressure spots. When Sanchez went down, IMO everyone seemed to have high expectations of this guy (myself included) that were probably off. I've pretty much resigned myself to not expect much from this guy anymore.
