Re: ** Official August Chat Thread: The White Swan **
Its an interesing discussion on what level you play at.
I started at 200NL as I won a couple of medium size donkaments, and first month aside, was a winning player. That was pre US leg, and if I played like that now I would get my ass handed to me. However, I was only 4 tabling. I recently dropped to 100NL to learn multitabling and am up to 9 with improved hourly win rate. Now taking the higher number of tables back to 200NL on occasion. Also I have now decided all the sites are the same. Party>>Stars>>Tilt>>Party. I used to have a thing about Stars, but the luck has evened out over larger smaple sizes. |

Also, Im off to New York tomorrow! (I'm English so it is a brag for me). First time in the US for 15 years so pretty excited about it. Girlfriend might kill me if I started trying to meet poker players, but may have a stag do in Vegas in early January if anyone is out there around then.

Re: ** Official August Chat Thread: The White Swan **
I'm telling you guys, the action hands are insane on stars.
I think MTTR or someone was talking about this earlier... I took my cool down break from stars, then today in the first 100 hands I get AA vs KK all in and then KK vs AA all in and both times the KK wins. Then, unfortunately for Prodigy, this hand came up... POKERSTARS GAME #11652049160: HOLD'EM NO LIMIT ($1/$2) - 2007/08/23 - 17:39:09 (ET) Table 'Lederle II' 9-max Seat #9 is the button Seat 1: Schwallie4 ($217.40 in chips) Seat 2: texasbobby ($68.90 in chips) Seat 3: cannonball37 ($28.75 in chips) Seat 4: juampi_29 ($200 in chips) Seat 5: scorpionfish ($172.45 in chips) Seat 6: jacklabelxx ($133.85 in chips) Seat 8: illu1212 ($39 in chips) Seat 9: devolve ($245.80 in chips) Schwallie4: posts small blind $1 texasbobby: posts big blind $2 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to devolve [Qd Qs] cannonball37: folds juampi_29: folds scorpionfish: calls $2 jacklabelxx: folds illu1212: folds devolve: raises $10 to $12 Schwallie4: calls $11 texasbobby: folds scorpionfish: calls $10 *** FLOP *** [6s 6d Jc] Schwallie4: checks scorpionfish: checks devolve: bets $24 Schwallie4: calls $24 scorpionfish: folds *** TURN *** [6s 6d Jc] [5h] Schwallie4: bets $25 devolve: calls $25 *** RIVER *** [6s 6d Jc 5h] [Qh] Schwallie4: bets $60 devolve: raises $124.80 to $184.80 and is all-in Schwallie4 said, "lol if you have qq" Schwallie4: calls $96.40 and is all-in *** SHOW DOWN *** devolve: shows [Qd Qs] (a full house, Queens full of Sixes) Schwallie4: mucks hand devolve collected $445.80 from pot *** SUMMARY *** Total pot $448.80 | Rake $3 Board [6s 6d Jc 5h Qh] Seat 1: Schwallie4 (small blind) mucked [Jd Js] Seat 2: texasbobby (big blind) folded before Flop Seat 3: cannonball37 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 4: juampi_29 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 5: scorpionfish folded on the Flop Seat 6: jacklabelxx folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 8: illu1212 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 9: devolve (button) showed [Qd Qs] and won ($445.80) with a full house, Queens full of Sixes Now I still believe its probably all just some crazy variance, and obviously it takes millions of hands before we could even begin talking about meaningful statistics, but I can't help but to think these kind of hands happen a bit too much. Cliff notes: I'm not a conspiracy theorist and think it is more than likely variance that this happens so much, but think it is strange especially compared to some other sites I have played on. |

I'm moving up to 10NL.
I earned $62 @ NL2 and then $72 at NL5 so I think Im ready. Plus I earned another $52 playing 6max (.02 and .05). LOL looks like some kind of a pattern... $52/$62/$72 Too bad chess didn't create patterns such as this |

Re: ** Official August Chat Thread: The White Swan **
I play purely for recreation. Which is why I play one or two tables at a time- I just try to enjoy the strategy, the reads, etc.
So I will probably keep moving up as much as I can. I don't really take money out, so as soon as I'm rolled for the next level I will start taking shots. |
