Roger seemed to be acting and then just casually reached out and snagged it. I think it was planned given Posada didn't look Inge back before going to 2nd. [/ QUOTE ] No catcher ever looks a runner back before throwing or he'd have no chance to throw the guy out, right? [ QUOTE ] For the Red Sox series...u guys think the no back to back pitching for Joba will stick? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I think they're serious about it. |

That's what it looked like to me too. It looked like Jorge was throwing to 2nd. Roger saw the runner going home and cut it off. Great play. [/ QUOTE ] The strange thing was that Clemens first turned towards second, almost as if he was going to relay the throw there, before turning again towards Inge. Maybe that was part of the decoy. I was SURE McCarver was going to somehow mention his part in the front end of a double steal in the 1964 WS (for a long time, he was the answer to a trivia question about the only player to steal home in the WS since the famous Jackie Robinson steal in 1955). He kept giving Joe Buck hints and opportunities to bring it up, and Buck never did (maybe he doesn't know about it). Pretty funny. BTW, is there any foundation to McCarver's statement about the decision not to send Sheffield from second on I-Rod's single: "You send him with no outs, you send him with 2 outs, but you don't send him with 1 out." Huh? |

WTF!!!!!! Edwar was up last inning now it looks like Farnsworth is going to come in to pitch the seventh. I swear to god, if he blows the lead I will actually murder him.

Two things...
1) Now with Farnsworth throwing a few good innings, I doubt we will see Edwar in a tight situation until atleast 2011. 2) I know its not possible, but if ESPN did one of their website polls across the nation about Tim McCarver, what do you guys think is approval rating would be? |

Tim McCarver, during the 8th inning of the game today: "Unearth me, baby."
